Donald L. Moore, 77, of Chimes Boulevard, died at 3:02 a.m. Sunday, March 2, in the Meridian Cardinal Nursing Home, South Bend. He was born on Oct. 25, 1919, in South Bend, living here all his life.

On March 14, 1948, in South Bend, he was married to Margaret, who survives along with one daughter, Tommie Schmidt of Osceola, Ind. Also surviving are two grandchildren; Nicole Schmidt of Osceola and Matthew Sullivan of Niles, Mich., and a brother, Lawrence Moore of Oxnard, Calif.

Mr. Moore served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a mechanic at Clark Air Base in the Philippines. He was a prisoner of war from May 7, 1942 until September 8, 1945. He retired from Bendix Corp. on April 1, 1978.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood, with Rev. Michael Mather, pastor of Broadway Christian Parish, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Rescue Mission or to the charity of the donor's choice
