Dorothy Viola Marker, 80,  of Village Way, South Bend, IN, died at 7:30 a.m. in her residence. Mrs. Marker was born on June 13, 1918, in South Bend, and lived in this area all of her life. She was a former employee of the Burger Dairy Store.

On Jan. 8, 1944, in South Bend, as Dorothy Standfield, she married John Marker, who preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 1981. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Blake; and by a brother. Harry "Bud" Standfield.

She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth (Ronald) Lies of South Bend; a son, John E. (Sherry) Marker of Granger, Ind.; four grandchildren, Shelley Marker and Scott Lies, both of South Bend, and Craig Marker and Angela Marker, both of Granger, Ind.; a sister, Maxine Hartwick of South Bend; and by a brother, Orville Standfield of South Bend.

Mrs. Marker was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees #145, Senior Citizens Group of Southside Methodist Church, and was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery in Woodland, Ind. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association of St. Joseph County, United Health Services, 711 E. Colfax Avenue, South Bend, IN 46617
