Catherine "Katie" Ann Jones, 44, of East Ninth Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after a lengthy illness at 10:42 a.m. on Monday, June 24, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mish-awaka. Kate was born on Feb. 20, 1958, in Plymouth, Ind., to John and Mary (Midnight) Richardson of Fripp Island, S.C.

She is survived by her parents; her husband, Al Jones, whom Katie married on Sept. 27, 1997, in the Beiger Mansion in Mishawaka. She is also survived by a daughter, Andrea Zilkowski of Atlanta, Ga.; a son, William Cody Zilkowski of Mishawaka; Al's daughters, Jennifer Jones of Chicago, I|I., Stacy O'Hara of Clarkston, Mich., and Ashley Jones of South Bend, Ind.; five sisters, Susan Crain of Fairfield, Ohio, Kim Richardson and Christine Baker of Indianapolis, Ind., Sarah O'Brien of Lombard, Ill., and Patricia Petry of Cincinnati; three brothers, Mark Richardson of Anaheim, Calif., Thomas Richardson of Chicago and David Richardson of Menlo Park, Calif. She was loved by 12 nieces and nephews.

Katie had been employed by the M & M Mars Candy Company as a sales representative prior to her illness. She was a 1976 graduate of Riley High School, South Bend. Her favorite passions were gardening, decorating, art and gracious living.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, June 26, in the ThallemerGoethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, in St. Joseph Church, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph County Special Olympics, P.O.
