In Memory
Freddie Dale Durbin
Jul. 4, 1951 - Dec. 17, 2014
How do you put into a few paragraphs the life of someone who was your whole life?
Fred Dale Durbin, aka “Triple Dead Fred”, 63, of West Palm Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.
Fred was born on the Fourth of July 1951 in Mishawaka, Indiana to Robert and Bernice Durbin. Coming from a large family Fred set out early to leave his mark on this world. He served his country in the army from 1971 to 1973 as a weapons repair specialist for which he received the National Defense Service Medal.
He fell in love with Katherine R. Chaple and they married on November 22, 1975 in Lake Worth, Florida. Fred and Kathy were blessed with three children who he loved dearly: Dustin Dale, Daniel Phillip and Jennifer Rae.
Fred was a man of many talents. He could talk to anyone about anything. During his life he explored many career paths: a financial supervisor for Avco in Atlanta, Georgia; a realtor broker for Newland Construction in Rogers, Arkansas; a “cable dog” with English Cable in West Palm Beach; and the Facilities Director with The Benjamin School of North Palm Beach. Due to health issues he became disabled at the age of 51.
The last years of his life Fred spent his time loving his growing family. His four grandsons were a constant wonder and his ever increasing nieces and nephews were a delight. He relished riding his prized vintage Harley Davidson motorcycle with his Road Hog friends and socializing around town. Fred Durbin lived the legacy of his Fourth of July birthday. His many, many friends and family remember him as quite the firecracker that could be heard telling his “true stories” to anyone who would listen.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Katherine (Chaple) of West Palm Beach, son Dustin Durbin of West Palm Beach, son Daniel Durbin and daughter in-law Melissa (Jurek); grandchildren Wayne and James of Stuart, daughter Jennifer (Durbin) and son in-law Leslie Dery Jr; grandchildren Gage and Thorian of West Palm Beach, his mother Bernice of Jupiter, sisters Sandra (Durbin) Brooker of Pinellas Park, Darlene (Durbin) Adams of Stuart and Jeanne (Durbin) Freeman of Loxahatchee. Fred Durbin’s memory will be cherished by his many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and valued friends all over the world.
Miss you Fred, see you one beautiful day in heaven.
