Thomas M. Freitag, 62, passed away Thursday morning, January 29, 2015. He was born on September 8, 1952 in South Bend to Joseph and Florence (Van Goeye) Freitag Sr. Tom enlisted in the United States Army and completed his basic training at Fort Campbell, KY and then served in Vietnam and Europe until he was honorably discharged. He suffered the after effects of Vietnam for the rest of his life. His one enjoyment was playing his guitar with friends and family.

Preceding him in death were his father Joseph Freitag Sr, sister Kathryn Sue Greer and nephews Derek Whitteberry and Scott Freitag.

Surviving are his mother Florence Freitag, three sisters Carol Whitteberry, Mary Lou Freitag and Donna (Jeff) Olszewski, a brother Joseph Freitag Jr., his aunts Hermina Takacs and Rose Nagy, uncle Ron (Sue) Van Goeye and great-aunts Madeline Butler and Elsie Mitchell as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
