Hubert L James

SOUTH BEND Hubert L. James, 61, of South Bend, Indiana, departed this life on Friday, November 22, 2013, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, Indiana. Mr. James was born on July 28, 1952, in Lumpkin, Georgia, to the union of Willie B. James and Eddie Mae James. Hubert came to South Bend, Indiana, in 1959. He was employed at South Bend Staffing for 32 years and by Notre Dame Banquet from 2007 to 2008. Hubert was a huge fan of the Chicago Bears and Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and he loved watching his Western movies.

Mr. James will truly be missed by a host of family and friends.

Mr. James is survived by one son, Silas James (fiancee, Toshiba James); one sister, Martha L. Willingham (brother-in-law, Otto James) of Flint, Michigan; four brothers, Willie A. James (Mrs. and Mrs.) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Herbert L. James of South Bend, Indiana, Bobby L. (Lisa) James of Toledo, Ohio, and Robert L. James of South Bend; four grandsons, Keshun James and Jeremiah James of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Silas James Jr. and Devonte Gordon of South Bend; three granddaughters: Si'taisa and Sycelona Sylvester and Madison James, all of South Bend; one aunt, Van Esther Cannon of Lumpkin, Georgia; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Hubert was preceded in death by his parents, Willie B. James and Eddie Mae James; one brother, Eddie Will James; grandmother, Addie Hansen; two aunts: Lucille McNeil and Corine Gilbert; cousins: Ed Gilbert, Eddie Mary Gilbert, Larry Crocker and Donna Cannon.

Funeral services for Hubert L. James will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013, in Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and service at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery
