SOUTH BEND — Mr. Eric Cunningham, 56, who resided on East Indiana Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 9:01 a.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Indiana. Eric was born on November 12, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, to Billy B. and Eleanor (Sandifer) Cunningham.

He worked 15 years as a laborer at Phillips Industries. He was a former member of Tremont Baptist Church in Chicago.Coming from Chicago in 1969, he moved to South Bend. He worked as disc jockey for Y-Knot Shack and the Elks. His hobbies were shooting pool, basketball, football and playing games. He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy B.and Eleanor Cunningham;his companion, Lillian Porter; and a sister, Charlene Cunningham Blair.

Survivors include his sister, Denise (Curtis) Strickland; three nieces, Curtrina, Kayla and Calandra Strickland; one nephew, Adrell Underwood; eight grandnieces and nephews, Jayden, Jordyn, Jayvon, Alana, Marcus, Ty, Devon and Kayvon; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Eric Cunningham will be held at 1:00 p.m.on Saturday, May 28, 2011, in Alford’s Mortuary, with burial following at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
