Salli Mae (McMillan) Hutton

Salli Mae (McMillan) Hutton, age 74, of Gainesville, GA, passed away at home on Sunday, October 11, 2026 after a lingering illness.

She was born on July 4, 1952 in Mishawaka, Indiana, to parents Dorothy “Dottie” Six and Merrill E. McMillan. She married Dave Weiler December 13, 1969 in South Bend. On February 14, 1981 Salli married the love of her life, James “Jim” Hutton. The family moved to Gainesville in 1986.

Salli is survived by two daughters; Jonica (Andy) Weiler Standridge, and Laura Hutton Murray (Tim).
Grandchildren; Jordan Standridge and William Standridge of Gainesville, Georgia and Grace (Brett) Murray Gajewski, Jack Murray, Maggie Murray, Emma Murray and Charlotte Murray and great grandsons, Hudson and Maverick Gajewski, all residing in Florida and her Step-mother, Florence McMillan and sisters; Gale (Charles) Wall, Joyce (Brian) Smid and Lorna (Michael) Combs.

She was preceded in death by both parents, both husbands, and her infant son, Matthew Weiler.

Salli will be forever loved, remembered, and missed by her family and many lifelong friends who stayed in close contact over the decades. She was an incredibly generous person and integral part of their lives. Her grandchildren, Jordan and Will, were especially close to their Grammy, and lived with and took care of her.

The family would also like to thank Pruitt Health of Gainesville for their tender, loving hospice care, and great kindness.
