Edward Nietch, 51, of 2309 Ribourde Dr., was dead on arrival Thursday morning in a Green Bay, Wis., hospital, after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was parts manager for Materials Handling Equipment Corp., where he had been employed for 18 years. He was in Green Bay on business trip.

He was born on April 7, 1923 in Logansport and lived here for most of his life.

On Oct. 17, 1967, he married. the former Shirley McIntyre who survives. Other survivors are his mother, Mrs. Clara Nietch of South Bend; son, Craig of South Bend; a stepson, Scott McIntyre of Niles; daughter, Miss Kathy Nietch of South Bend; three brothers, Howard and Harold both of Niles, and Charles of South Bend, and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Nanos of Elkhart.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Guisinger Colonial Chapel. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Rev. Laurence E. Tippmann, assistant pastor of St. Matthew's Cathedral, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Air Force; he member of the South Bond Moose Lodge and American Legion Post No. 50.
