Ryan Christopher Vogel
February 8, 1973 ~ October 15, 2024 51 Years Old
Ryan Christopher Vogel, a lifelong resident of South Bend, passed away at home on Tuesday October 15th, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ryan was born on February 8, 1973 in South Bend, IN to Nelson and Sandra Vogel. He graduated from Riley High School in 1992, and attended Vincennes University.
Ryan had a love of cats. Over the years he took in several cats and gave them a great home. His most recent crew of cats Frances, Peaches, and Silver were by his side until the very end. Ryan also had a passion for movies. He loved going to the movies with his family. His favorite movies were anything with Corey Haim and Corey Feldman in them. Ryan loved the holidays for all the amazing food. Thanksgiving and Christmas were some of his favorite times of year due to the dinner menu. He loved complementing the cooks for the meals they would prepare. His birthday was especially important to him because he made the determination of the restaurant where his birthday would be celebrated.
Ryan is survived by his parents, Nelson and Sandra Vogel of South Bend, his brother Justin (Kelly) Vogel of South Bend, his brother Nathan (Anne) Vogel of Mishawaka, his sister Lindsey Vogel (Steven Reese) of Costa Mesa, CA. Ryan is also survived by his nieces and nephews Nash and Cora Vogel, Elliott and Colette Vogel, and Petra Reese.
Ryan was proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents Nelson and Carolyn Vogel, maternal grandparents Francis and Frances (Lorraine) Cudney, and Uncle Greg Vogel.
Visitation for Ryan will be held from 2pm-4pm on Thursday October 24, 2024, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend. An informal sharing of memories will be held at 4pm with burial to follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Clubhouse of St. Joseph County, 1153 Northside Blvd. South Bend, IN 46615.
