SOUTH BEND - Denise Marie Franklin, 42, of Charlotte, N.C., formerly of South Bend, died Monday in Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, after an illness. Ms. Franklin was employed by Surety Life Insurance Co., Charlotte.

She was born Feb. 6, 1952, in South Bend.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel J. Robinson of Wilmington, N.C.; a daughter, Carolyn L. Brown of Charlotte; a son, Maurice A. Flowers of Charlotte; her parents, Viola and Neal Strong of Belpre, Ohio; three sisters, Pamela Franklin of Belpre, Clarissa Plair of Killeen, Texas, and Sandra Ellis-Barba of Austin, Texas; and six brothers, Alan Franklin of Killeen, Dewayne Franklin of Huttonsville, W. Va., William McGhee of Fe, N.M., Gregory Moore of Vegas, , Terry Ellis and Michael Strong, both of Parkersburg, W. Va.

She was a graduate of Riley High School.

Services were today in Jehovah's Witnesses Congregation-Eastland, Charlotte. Alexander Funeral Home, Charlotte, handled arrangements
