In Memory

Malik Martell Duncan
December 9, 2008 ~ January 5, 2026
Malik Martell Duncan, 17, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Beacon Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana. He was born on Tuesday, December 9, 2008, in South Bend, to his loving parents, Alycia Duncan and Marquis Malone, who survive.
Malik was a proud student at South Bend Riley High School, where he excelled academically and was known for his bright mind and even brighter spirit. He was a loving, kind, and joyful young man whose presence could light up any room. Malik carried warmth that drew people in—his smile was constant, his laughter contagious, and his playful jokes brought happiness to family and close friends alike. Selfless by nature, Malik was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. His bond with his mother was especially tender; he found joy in doing things for her, and she lovingly called his name often, knowing she could always count on him. Their connection was one of deep affection and trust. Malik leaves to honor and treasure his memory, his parents; two brothers, Mikel Duncan and Marquis Duncan; twelve paternal siblings; his grandmothers, Georgia Duncan and Angela Henderson; a maternal uncle, Andrew Duncan; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, classmates, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grand-fathers, Herman Richardson and Thomas Henderson and two aunts, Rhema Shekinah Harris and Tanisha Duncan. Malik was deeply loved, his friendship truly valued, and his presence a blessing to all who knew him. His memory will forever be held close in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be dearly and profoundly missed.
