Carol Jean (Roth) Bavar

NILES, MI - Carol Jean Bavar, 81, of Niles, MI, passed away on Tuesday, January 8 in her residence with her loving family by her side. Carol was born in South Bend on January 6, 1938 to the late Wilson and Thelma (Reed) Roth. On June 30, 1956 in South Bend, she married the love of her life, Joseph Bavar. Joseph passed away on August 18, 2017. She is also preceded in death by her son, Wendell Bavar.

Surviving Carol are her children, Brad (Vicky) Bavar, Marie (Curt) Jones, Jeff (Collette) Bavar, Abi (Ron) Buening, Heidi Smith, Jennifer (Jason) Petermann, Joe (Tarla) Bavar, Jon Bavar, and Joy (Adam) Kuntz.

Carol was a loving and caring grandmother to 25 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. She also is survived by her sister, Lynda (Victor) Pellico and brother, Donald Roth. Carol is preceded in death by her brother, David Roth. Carol was a member of the Women's Red Hat Club. She was the owner/operator of Carol's Daycare for over 40 years.

The family welcomes you to join them in celebrating Carol's life at the visitation held at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 3050 Edison Road, South Bend, IN 46615 on Friday, January 11 from 4-7pm. Memorial Service will be held at Lighthouse Baptist Church on Saturday, January 12 at 10:00am with graveside service to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Osceola, IN. The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to either Hospice at Home of Buchanan, MI or to the Susan G. Koman Foundation. Bubb Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
