Bernice Irene (Braniff) Rodgers (aged 92)

SOUTH BEND - Former South Bend resident, Bernice Irene Rodgers,
92, residing in Laveen, Arizona, passed away at 3:12 p.m. Wednesday,
December 3, 2008 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Phoenix, AZ. She was
born November 4, 1916 in South Bend, the daughter of Edward & Mary
(Yandl) Braniff, and lived here all of her life until moving to Arizona in
1982. She was united in marriage to Francis M. Rodgers who preceded
her in death on May 10, 1967. She was also preceded by a son, Gary in
1991. She retired as an inspector with the Bendix Corp. in South Bend. Mrs. Rodgers
is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Douglas (Noelle) Rodgers of Laveen, AZ,
two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a sister,
Rosemary Zielinski of South Bend, and a brother, Donald Braniff of Indianapolis.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger
Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend. Rev. Ed Erskin will officiate.
Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. The family will
receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
