Elenora Frances Adams, age 94, of South Bend, IN passed on to glory January 29, 2023. Elenora was born April 16, 1928 to the late Elbert V. and Emma (Bahde) Bartholomew in South Bend, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Adams, her brother Rev. Bruce B. Bartholomew and her son David V. Adams. She is survived by five children; Robert J. Adams II, Sharon Stevens Byorni, Diana (Tom) Lykowski, Barry (Jacque) Adams and Rosemary (John) Wampler, fifteen grandchildren; Peter (Katie), Becky, Kevin (Krys), Larry (Mindy), Joseph (Cameron), Jennifer, Jesse, Mark, Mary (Tyler), Megan (Eric), Eric (Kristen), Rachel (matt), Alex (Sushan), David (Katie), and Cassandra, and eighteen great grandchildren; Michael, Morgan, Oliver, Natalie, Indigo Pearl, Marlee Dawn, West, Norie, Ellie, Coco, Violet, Grayson, Isabella Rose, Luke, Ma'Kynnleigh, Jaxx'son, Emma'Leigh and Wednesdaigh. She dearly loved us all.

Elenora had been a lifetime resident of South Bend, except for five years residency in Vero Beach, FL with her husband Bob. She graduated from Riley High School and attended Valparaiso University briefly. She and Bob were wed in 1947 while Dad was home on leave from the Navy. He made it back ten days after his first son was born in 1948. Together they went to Western Michigan University and lived in married trailers close to campus. Dad played basketball for four years and mom attended many games with two kids. They then moved back to South Bend and had four more kids by 1961. She was a full time mom and homemaker. She had a wonderful faith and every Sunday managed to get us all ready for Sunday School and Church Services at Emmaus Lutheran. We can thank her for bringing us up in a faith that sustains us to this day. Mom made many great friends along the way, many of whom have gone before her. She also made doggie friends at the parks she would walk with her dogs throughout the years. The family would like to thank the caregivers who helped us along the way with their deep compassion, friendship and kindness toward our Mom. Thanks to Jennifer, Carol, Brenda, Brie and Crystal. There were so many, but these were appreciated beyond words. Thanks to Home Instead for providing some of these outstanding angels. We would also like to acknowledge the Center for Hospice for their guidance, care and support during Mom's final months.

There was one instance a few years ago, Mom had to go to rehab after a hospital visit. One night as I said goodnight and was walking out, I turned around and she was staring at me leaving. I took a step back and asked her if she was going to be alright. She responded not to worry about her, that she would "put her hand in the hand of the Man from Galilee." And I know that's what she did that Sunday morning. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Humane Society. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 McKinley Hwy Osceola, IN.
