SOUTH BEND - Mr. Andre Allen, 37, expired Saturday, August 18, 2007, surrounded by his devoted wife and family. Andre was born in South Bend, IN, to Rodney Allen and Joann Harper. After a loving and enduring relationship, Andre was united in holy matrimony to Monique Lusk in 2003.

Andre grew up on the southeast side, and was a graduate of Riley High School. Andre had a passion for sports, especially for basketball. Andre was a member on the All-Star basketball team in 1987. Andre went to Vincennes College and received his associate degree in business. After receiving his degree Andre served in the Marine Corps.

He later was employed by Lock Joint and Tube as a crane operator for several years. Andre was a loving father who had a great love for all of his children. "He could do no wrong in their eyes," and they were truly Andre's heart. Andre leaves to his memory his loving and devoted wife, Monique Allen; his father, Rodney Allen of South Bend; a maternal grandmother, Esther Harper Lee of South Bend; and a paternal grandmother, Helen Clark of Chicago IL. Andre leaves three sons, Christopher Allen, DeAndre Allen and David Fleming Jr., all of South Bend; five daughters, Alexis Allen, Alicia Easton and Summer Allen, all of South Bend, IN, Andrea Allen of Indianapolis, IN, and Domonique Carr of Milwaukee, WI; five grandchildren; three brothers, Dartagnan (Carolyn) Newman of Fontana, CA, Rodney Allen Jr. of Landover, Maryland, and Adrain Allen (Annette) of Evansville, IN; two special sisters, Monica Clark and Sonya Phillips; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

His mother, Joann Harper, preceded him in death.

Funeral services for Mr. Allen will he held at noon on Monday, August 27, in Harris Prairie Church of Christ, located at 14719 S.R. 23 in Granger, Indiana, with visitation one hour prior to services in the church. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary, South Bend, where messages of condolence may be e-mailed to alfordsmortuary@comcast.net.
