Ruth Marie (Anderson) Pletcher

May 20, 1914 - Feb. 3, 2008

VANDALIA - Ruth M. Pletcher, 93, of Birch Lake, passed away at 3:25 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Ruth was born May 20, 1914, in South Bend, to the late David and Bessie (Gustafson) Anderson.

On March 5, 1935, in California, Ruth married Gail Pletcher, who passed away, December 1996. She was also preceded by her son-in-law, Hubert; a grandson, Rick Goodin; and several brothers.

Ruth is survived by a daughter, Betty Goodin of Granger; son, Larry Pletcher of Jones, MI; five grandchildren, Randy (Cathy) Goodin, Lori (Kenneth) Hendricks, Kevin (Tracy) Goodin, Jason Pletcher and Jodi Pletcher; six great-grandchildren, Erin, Sean, Brian and Shannon Hendricks, Natalie Goodin and Ashlee Hostetler; a sister, Betty (Carl) Barnhart of Hammond, IN; and a brother, Wayne (Mildred) Anderson of Scipio, IN.

Ruth got along with everyone and loved life. She had such love and dedication to her family. Her favorite place was being at Birch Lake.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend, with Rev. James Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home.
