SOUTH BEND — Russell R. Aulm, 74, of 1611 E. LaSalle Ave., died at 1:15 p.m. Sunday, Oct 15, 1989, in his home. Mr. Aulm retired in 1978 as  the former president and owner of Aulm Construction Co. He was born April 20, 1915, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On Nov. 23, 1940, in South Bend, he married Rebecca Cabmen, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Melinda L. Mayne of Mattawan, Mich., and Deborah L. Tholen of Albany, Ga.; 10 grand-children, and five great-grandchildren.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee and member of the administrative board. St. Joseph Masonic Lodge 45, Scottish Rite Salley of South Bend, South Bend Chapter 29 Royal Arch Masons, South Bend Council 82 R & SM, South Bend Commandry 13 Knights Templar, of which he served as eminent commander in 1944 and grand commander in 1973-74 of Grand Commandary Knights Templar of Indiana, and Beak Temple of Michigan City and Court 43 Royal Order of Jesters. He also was past president of Mishailend Chapter of Kiwanis Club and South Bend-Mishawaka Contractors Association.

Memorial services will be at 2 p m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church. Cremation will take place, with banal in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call 111 the church parlor following memorial services. Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. Witham St., is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eye Foundation of York Rite or the church.
