Phyllis Sharon Sharry Borr (Weiss)

Phyllis Sharon (Borr) Weiss

March 3, 1942     ~     July 16, 2025

With hearts full of love and gratitude, the family of Phyllis Sharon Weiss announces her peaceful passing on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Born in South Bend, Indiana on March 3, 1942, Phyllis lived a life rich with laughter, music, and resilience.

In 1982, she moved to Atlanta with her three children, Daniel, Eileen, and Patrick, beginning a new chapter that would eventually lead her to the love of her life, Donald Weiss, with whom she shared 33 beautiful years of marriage.

Phyllis had a lifelong passion for the performing arts. She graced community theater stages and charmed audiences with her cabaret singing under the stage name Minnie Tee, in tribute to her beloved mother, Minnie Tolchinsky. She brought joy and energy to open mic nights, independent films, student projects, and even appeared in a national film by Tyler Perry.

Whether on stage, at the piano, or in front of a camera, Phyllis brought sparkle, humor, and heart.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Weiss; sister, Ruth Ehrenhalt; and brothers, Irwin and Marvin Borr.

Phyllis is survived by a loving and devoted family which includes her son, Daniel Edmonds, wife Kimberli, and their children Colin, Samantha, Charlotte, and Liam; daughter, Eileen Cobb, husband Kip, and their children Sydney and Cameron; and son, Patrick Edmonds, wife My, their sons Joshua and Andrew, and Andrew’s wife Jessica.

She adored her seven grandchildren, who lit up her life, loved her son in-law and 2 daughter in-laws, and “tolerated” her three regular children with love, humor, and more than a little sass.

Phyllis leaves behind a legacy of music, laughter, and unwavering strength. Her family will forever cherish her stories, her songs, and her fierce spirit.

A family and friends celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Tom M. Wages Funeral Home at 3705 Highway 78 West, Snellville, GA 30039. Visitation at 10am and service at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to support www.Todaysveterans.org.
